All-inclusive, without the mental load
The real luxury is how little you have to organise
Some holidays are relaxing once you arrive. Others make the whole process easier from the start.
That is the part of Club Med we think is often missed. Yes, the resorts are beautiful. Yes, there is plenty to eat, drink and do. But the real appeal is simpler: a huge amount of the holiday has already been thought through for you.
You are not spending every morning deciding where everyone is eating, what the kids are doing, how much the next activity costs or who needs to organise what. You can just get on with being on holiday.
So, what does all-inclusive actually mean?
Club Med has built its name around a version of all-inclusive that goes well beyond a room and a buffet. The exact inclusions vary by resort and holiday type, but the core idea is consistent: accommodation, dining, drinks, activities, entertainment and family facilities are brought together into one stay.
Accommodation
Your resort stay is the base, with room types ranging from practical family options through to suites, villas and selected Exclusive Collection accommodation.
Dining and drinks
All-day dining and a premium open bar remove one of the biggest rolling costs, and one of the biggest daily decisions, from a resort holiday.
Activities and entertainment
There is plenty included for people who want to be active, and absolutely no obligation to do any of it if your preferred activity is lying beside a pool with a cold drink.
Kids Clubs
At many Club Med resorts, age-based Kids Clubs for children from 4 to 17 are included, giving younger travellers their own holiday while adults get genuine downtime too.
It is still worth knowing what sits outside the package. Depending on the resort, things such as spa treatments, excursions, private lessons, premium experiences and ski equipment hire can be additional. We would rather explain that clearly than pretend “all-inclusive” means literally every possible thing you could buy on holiday.

Club Med Sun
Sun holidays: easy days, zero committee meetings
A Club Med Sun holiday is probably the purest version of the idea. Wake up, have breakfast, then decide how ambitious you feel. Pool? Beach? Fitness class? Watersports? Kids Club? Long lunch? Spa? Absolutely nothing?
That flexibility is what makes the format work so well. The day does not need a spreadsheet.
For Australian travellers, resorts across places such as Thailand, Indonesia and the Maldives make Club Med an easy fit for tropical holidays, with a mix of family-friendly resorts, island escapes and more elevated options. Our own Club Med range also spans Sun and Snow resorts, so the right choice is less about “which Club Med?” and more about what kind of holiday do you actually want?
Families get to holiday differently
The kids do not need to spend every minute following the adults, and the adults do not need to spend every minute entertaining the kids. Everyone gets some independence, then comes back together for meals, swimming, activities and the parts of the day that matter.
Food stops becoming a daily negotiation
There is no “where are we eating tonight?” discussion, no repeated bill shock and no need to ration the good stuff until the final night. Dining becomes part of the rhythm of the resort.
Do a lot. Do nothing. Both are correct.
Club Med suits active travellers because there is plenty happening, but it also works for people who want the opposite. You can fill every hour or ignore the programme entirely.
Multi-generational trips become much easier
When grandparents, parents, teenagers and younger children all have different ideas of a good day, a resort with multiple activities, dining options and spaces gives everyone room to enjoy the holiday their own way.
Sun is not just “family resort”
That is another Club Med assumption worth retiring.
Families are a huge part of the appeal, but the range is much broader. Couples can choose quiet island time, adults can lean into wellness and food, groups can make the resort their shared base, and travellers wanting something more refined can explore Club Med’s Exclusive Collection, including elevated resort spaces, villas and Alpine-style accommodation.
Club Med can also work brilliantly when the trip has a particular purpose. Golfers can explore our Club Med golf holidays, while businesses and groups can use Club Med Meetings & Events for conferences, incentive travel, team retreats and events where accommodation, dining, activities and meeting facilities can all be coordinated in one place.
In other words, Club Med can be lively without being chaotic, structured without feeling rigid, and all-inclusive without feeling like every traveller is being pushed into the same holiday.

Club Med Ski
Ski holidays: where all-inclusive makes even more sense
If the Sun version is about making a resort holiday easier, Club Med Ski is where the model really earns its keep.
A normal ski holiday can involve a surprisingly long list of moving parts: accommodation, transfers, lift passes, lessons, equipment, meals, kids arrangements, slope access and the simple question of how everyone gets where they need to be each morning.
Club Med strips a lot of that complexity away. At its ski resorts, the package can include accommodation, lift passes, group ski or snowboard lessons, dining, drinks, Kids Clubs and entertainment. You arrive with far more of the mountain already organised.
Your lift pass is already part of the holiday
One less queue, one less major expense to add later and one less thing to organise after arriving in resort.
Group lessons are built in
Whether you are learning for the first time or refining your technique, included group lessons make it much easier for different ability levels to travel together without everyone having to ski together.
Families can divide and conquer
Parents can ski, children can join age-appropriate programmes or lessons, and nobody has to sacrifice the entire trip because the group has different confidence levels on the mountain.
Après-ski does not need another booking
Come off the mountain, warm up, eat well, have a drink and settle into the evening without turning every night into another logistical exercise.
One important distinction: ski and snowboard equipment hire is generally not included in the standard Club Med package, so that is something we can factor into the overall trip cost from the start.
Japan, Europe or Canada?
Club Med Ski is not one single style of snow holiday either. Japan is a natural favourite for Australian travellers, particularly the Hokkaido resorts, while Europe opens the door to classic Alpine villages, huge ski domains and a completely different après-ski atmosphere. Canada brings another version again.
The best resort is not automatically the one with the biggest name. It depends on who is travelling, how well everyone skis, whether children are coming, how much time you want on the mountain, the room configuration you need and what kind of atmosphere you want when the skis come off.
First-time skiers
The bundled lesson structure can take a lot of uncertainty out of a first ski holiday and gives beginners a clear, supported way into the sport.
Mixed-ability groups
Different lesson groups and independent slope time mean better skiers do not have to spend the week waiting, and beginners do not have to spend the week feeling rushed.
Families
When everyone needs a slightly different snow programme, having more of the logistics centred around one resort is a very big advantage.
The price question
Is Club Med expensive? Compare the whole holiday, not just the room
Club Med will not always have the lowest accommodation price on a search screen, and that is not really the point.
If you compare a Club Med room rate with a conventional hotel room and stop there, the conventional hotel may look cheaper. But that is not a like-for-like comparison. Add breakfast, lunches, dinners, drinks, activities, entertainment and Kids Clubs to a Sun holiday. On Ski, add lift passes and group lessons as well.
Suddenly the comparison looks very different.
Value is not the same as “cheap”
The better question is how much of the holiday you are getting for the total amount you will actually spend, not how low the first number on the screen looks.
Knowing more of the cost upfront matters
There is real value in arriving on holiday with fewer surprise expenses still to come, particularly for families and groups.
Why timing matters
With Club Med, the best time to think about booking is often earlier than you expect
If you have seen our Club Med emails over the years, you will know we talk about Early Bird sales a lot. There is a reason.
The discount is useful, of course, but early access is often just as important. Popular school-holiday dates, family room types, interconnecting options and preferred resorts can tighten up long before people assume they will.
The same applies to ski. The “best” room is not necessarily the most expensive one. It may simply be the room configuration that keeps your family together, the week that lines up with your flights or the resort that suits your ability level.
The sale is only part of the story
Getting in early can mean better choice of dates, rooms and resorts. Saving money is excellent. Getting the holiday you actually wanted in the first place is better.
