18jonny.jpgRugby Union – The Game Played In “Heaven”

Rugby began life in Britain but is now loved all over the world and played in over 120 countries throughout the world. Much of its value comes from its rich history, traditions and camaraderie.

Rugby Union in Australia has taken full advantage of the ongoing growth and profile of the game which reached an all-time high during the 2003 Rugby World Cup. The stats from that World Cup speak for themselves – record crowds through the turnstiles, record television audiences and record profits. “Interest” amongst the general Australian population climbed to 40% nationally. Little wonder Rugby World Cup 2003 was declared the “best ever”.

Fast forward to the present day and whilst the interest in rugby in Australia is still fantastic, the Wallabies have slipped down the pecking order. With South Africa winning the 2007 World Cup and the English and All Black sides still a force, the Wallabies have the job ahead of them. Jump on board as Australia begin the journey to reclaiming the mantle as the world's best.

Travel & Sports Australia can organise all your domestic and international travel needs to support a game full of history, tradition and increased growth.
